.her backstory. kotori was born into the prestigious 'ameline' family of scholars in sharlayan. her childhood was quite a difficult one due to the strict traditions and expectations that the family name had bestowed upon her. her gentle mother was all she could seek solace until her unfortunate passing when kotori was little.since her mother's death, kotori drifted further apart from her father. she would spend more time with her neighbors, the leveilleurs, where she became close friends with the twins. throughout the years, kotori had grown resentful towards her studies despite her remarkable performance.kotori's desire for freedom grew stronger each passing year. she loved listening to gleaners and visiting adventurers share their stories beyond sharlayan's borders. determined to leave the island herself, she secretly polished her combat skills in hopes of joining an adventurer's guild one day.it was not long after for kotori to summon her courage to confess to her father. the discussion did not end well, leaving them both in cold silence. it was until ameliance leveilleur, stepped in to be the voice of reason for kotori's father. the two finally reconciled with kotori receiving her weapon, a rapier, as a gift from her father before her departure to eorzea. and thus, this is where her adventure begins...
